Seafood, fresh produce and a new boat all in a days shopping

If you are looking for some fresh seafood, authentic homemade conserves or even a new boat then head down to the new Marina Boardwalk Markets, starting this weekend at Meridien Marinas Horizon Shores on Saturday 14 March 2009.

Meridien Marinas General Manager, Adam Fernance said the new markets will provide both Brisbane and Gold Coast residents with a new concept right on their door step.

"The Marina Boardwalk Markets has all the expected market produce but with a marine twist," Mr Fernance said.

"These markets will not only be great for local residents. You can pick up some freshly grown tomatoes, one-of-a-kind artwork, new and second hand clothing and great boating bits and pieces – even a new boat!"

Starting at 8:00am, the Marina Boardwalk Markets will be held every Saturday and will include stalls selling a range of items from fresh produce, arts and crafts, children's attractions, food stalls as well as new and pre owned boats and boating goods.

"Visitors can also take a tour of the marina on a Sea-Tow/VMR boat for a small donation," he said.

"Whether it's a car or a boat you want to drive there's ample parking. Boaties can tie up at our courtesy wharf or contact us for larger vessels.

"Why not make a day of it by visiting the markets and getting everything you need for a picnic then heading off on your boat to explore the extensive sheltered waterways between Horizon Shores and the Gold Coast.

"Direct Broadwater and Southern Moreton Bay access is only two minutes from the entrance to the Horizon Shores Marina, so once you have visited the markets it won't take long to start your next adventure on the water."

Horizon Shores is the perfect environment for families with a friendly atmosphere and are currently three years into a $500 million redevelopment and expansion of the area.

The inclusion of such markets will only improve the facilities in the area and increase visitors to the region over the coming years.
