The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in cooperation with the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania and naming rights sponsor Club Marnie is pleased to invite members and other interested parties to participate in a cruise between the waters of Port Jackson and the Port of Hobart. The cruise will be a non time based voyage to Hobart. The Cruise is arranged around a designated arrival time in Hobart of no later than 1200 hrs on 5th February 2009. This date coincides with the Wooden Boat Festival to be held in Hobart on the weekend of 7-9 February 2009 and the start of the 2009 White & McAllister Van Diemen Land's Circumnavigation Cruise Participants will be free to leave Sydney at will and the route to Hobart and transit anchorages are unrestricted. There is no speed or timed distance reporting. The aim is to perform excellent seamanship, navigation and communication disciplines. There will be no advantage caused by, or any need for competitive speed during the Cruise. Entrants will be encouraged to voyage in company and may proceed at any time under sail or power. Entrants will be encouraged to make a stopover in Eden. Entrants will conform to safety and communication disciplines detailed in the Cruise Directions when they become available.
