Marina Mirage Port Douglas

The tropical resort town of Port Douglas is the closest mainland access point to the delights of the Great Barrier Reef. In fact, the former sleepy fishing village of Port Douglas is one of the few places in the world where two World Heritage listed entitites sit side by side. Claiming the mantle of the  Reef and Rainforest Coast, The Great Barrier Reef with its world famous fishing grounds is just offshore, while the dense tropical rainforest of Cape Tribulation is so close you can almost smell the aromas of the forest from Meridien Marina Mirage Port Douglas behind.

Befitting its northern Queensland climate, Port Douglas has a casual outdoor lifestyle that appeals to boat owners. Vibrant Macrossan Street vies with Meridien Marina Mirage Port Douglas as the entertainment hub of this relaxed town that has more than its fair share of natural beauty. The town thrives on its tourism culture, creating a vibrant hub of dining, accommodation and tourist activities.

Meridien Marina Mirage Port Douglas forms part of the 5 star waterfront facilities on Dickson Inlet. Owned by highly respected marina management company, Meridien Marinas, Marina Mirage is the departure point for many of the tour operators who visit the tempting delights of the waters surrounding the Great Barrier Reef. Meridien Marinas are committed to sustainable, eco- friendly marina designs. As part of their commitment to creating sought-after waterfront destinations, not just a place to moor your boat, you'll also find award-winning shopping and exclusive fine dining on the waterfront at Meridien Marina Mirage Port Douglas.

Many of Port Douglas's restuarants have settled on a winning tropical formula: outdoor and indoor dining spaces, cocktails mixed with tropical fruit that is in abundance, combined with modern menus that feature plenty of the bountiful seafood found in the surrounding waters. Within the marina village, the galleries, retail boutiques, restaurants and bars all overlook picturesque mangrove tree lined Dickson Inlet. The inlet itself, with its narrow marked channel, forms an ever changing vista as a backdrop to this exciting precinct.

Boat owners will find all the services and facilities located either within the marina village, or a short distance away. Shipshape Chandlery is three minutes walk, while marine trade services are all located within the waterfront precinct. Island Point Marine will handle any slipping or haul out requirements. Provisioning is made easy with a supermarket and grocer close by, though it's hardly a concern, as most outlets will deliver to Marina Mirage Port Douglas. It's all part of the refreshing attitude of service oriented businesses who are accustomed to servicing the marine and charter industry. Plus, within easy walking distance are essential services like banks and a post office.

The marina itself is comprised of 112 modern, floating docks with vessel security and guest amenities a prime consideration. Positioned within a protected harbour that has little tidal influence, fuel facilities are suitable for refueling superyachts. The marina itself is capable of accommodating vessels up to 45 metres.
