Access to Lake Macquarie is via Swansea Heads and the Swansea Bar, with Marmong Point located on the northern shores of the lake. Contact the Swansea Coastguard to obtain the latest information on bar conditions and to confirm opening times of the Swansea Bridge, which admits vessels of unrestricted heights. The region is a glorious cruising ground in itself, with National Park dominating in the southern anchorages. Marmong Point Marina makes a perfect base for boating enthusiasts to explore the exquisite bays and coves of Lake Macquarie. Beyond the Swansea Heads, enjoy the thrill of offshore fishing and whale watching (in season, generally between May to October). Marmong Point is a fully equipped service oriented marina with both moorings and modern floating marina berths available. Repair and maintenance facilities include a 40 tonne travelift as well as hard stand space for 34 vessels. Onsite marine mechanics are approved dealers for Cummins, Volvo and Mercruiser. Shipwrights, trimmers, full boat detailing and marine electrical services are all at your convenience. Fuel (diesel and premium unleaded petrol), as well as bait, ice and a LPG refilling service are all available seven days per week. A fully stocked chandlery can supply you with all your boating accessories and spare parts. Marmong Point Marina is a progressive marina with plans in place for further modernisation.
